Met de ondergang van Kickass is de Pirate Bay de nieuwe nummer één torrent van de wereld. Of nou ja, nieuw. The Pirate Bay werd deze week 13 jaar, In internetjaren is dat natuurlijk stokoud. Al hoewel, Duken.nl is iets ouder als The pirate bay  

Hoewel alle oprichters meerdere keren zijn veroordeeld en zowel gigantische boetes hebben moeten betalen als tijd in de bak hebben gezeten, blijft het de populairste site om films, games, muziek en software te downloaden.

Van 2009 tot 2014 stond The Pirate Bay altijd bovenaan de lijst van meest gebruikte piraterij-sites. De afgelopen twee jaar ging Kickass aan kop, maar daar is nu dus verandering in gekomen.
